Thank you

Yesterday didn’t turn out as I hoped.  I wanted to win for our country and also for you, who gave so much to this campaign—your faith and credibility; your wisdom and your welcome.

From wheelchair attendants to tech titans, sheep farmers to civil servants, you sat down with me and helped me to better understand all that needs to be done.  It has been the honor of a lifetime to learn from you.

I wanted to serve you in Congress, but I also know that is not the only way to help.  Please know that your efforts, kindness, contributions, and faith were not wasted. I will spend the rest of my life working to honor all that you have given me and the possibility embodied in your work.

I entered this race knowing there were fairly insurmountable odds and believing that—like our country—we could come together and overtake them in service of who we are and who we can be. I still believe that.

Beating Rep. Comstock in November is going to take all of us coming together to connect with voters, from one-on-one conversations at the doors and over the phone to gathering small groups of people in our living rooms. Just like you, I feel strongly that Comstock no longer represents the interests of the families and individuals across Virginia’s 10th Congressional District; just like you, I am committed to making sure that we do everything we can to beat her in November.

All my love,

Alison
